Who am I?
I’m just a guy who likes martial arts and everything they represent – the discipline, the passion, the relationships built in the gym, and the overall joy that training has brought into my life since September 2003 when I had my first official lesson with my long time friend and coach, Chris Smith.
I’m no one special – I’ve fought in 1 amateur Muay Thai fight, 2 Muay Thai smokers, and 1 amateur MMA fight (which I lost). I’m an IMB instructor under Christopher Smith and Richard Bustillo and a BJJ blue belt under professor Fabiano Teles. I’m proud of where I come from and who I represent, but understand that I’m a krill in the ocean. At this point progress is the name of the game, no matter how little.
What this blog is for?
This is to share my journey with other like minded individuals who have the same passion that I do. I’m not exceptionally gifted nor talented, but what little skill I have acquired has come by working hard for a long time and thinking things through. This will be my way of thinking out loud, and helping out others in the process.
This blog is not just strictly about martial arts, but also a having passion for life and being generally awesome. You’ll see many parallels drawn between martial arts, strength training, business, music, stand up comedy, so on and so forth. My goal is to use this as an avenue to express myself and to provide a little entertainment.
Enjoy.
